the2:67project runs training mornings at the beginning of each academic term which offer youth and children’s leaders encouragement, training, support and the chance to network with other leaders. Our first morning took place in September 2008 and consisted of 6 workshops, 3 looking at children’s work and 3 looking at youthwork. Local full-time youthworkers came to speak and share their ministries. In addition, other experts led hour long workshops on a specific topics ranging from ‘music and children’ to ‘working with lively boys’ to ‘getting your young people involved in mission’ to ‘leading a small group study’.

Subsequent training mornings have included workshops such as 'Using games, games, games to teach a point', 'How to make Sunday School not like school'. and 'The place of story in youth work', as well as the ever popular 'toolbox idea sessions'.

A primary aim of the2:67project has always been to bring encouragement to those who volunteer within their churches and to equip them with skills and training that will benefit their work, as well as enabling them to pass on their great ideas to other leaders. We’ll be inviting different speakers each term who will bring new and varied skills to all who are involved in youth and children’s work.

One of the other main reasons for hosting training mornings and workshops like this is that it allows and encourages leaders to share their thoughts, ideas and concerns with others in a similar position.
