2:67 Youth Work Network

We are basically a bunch of Youth Workers from different churches and even different denominations. (Yes I know, shock horror, “how can you work together?” I hear you say!)

Well our heart is to just do youth work across St Albans and the surrounding area and support all those that are involved in some way with youth work. The 2:67 Youth Work Network was set up by a group of Youth Workers in the St Albans area. Its aim is to regularly gather fulltime, part-time and volunteer Youth Workers together and offer support, prayer, sharing of resources and networking.

‘Nexus’, the 2:67 Youth Work Network's previous incarnation, began about 8 years ago and was started by a group of Youth Workers getting together to support and encourage one another in their ministry. About 12 Youth Workers met together every couple of months and shared what was going on where they were. This proved to be a great time and built a real sense of camaraderie between Youth Workers. We spent time praying for one another, sharing in the excitement of each other's Youth Work and seeing how we could benefit one another by sharing wisdom, resources and energy. It was a very positive and encouraging group and we began to see what else God was seeking for us all.

The group grew in number and passion and decided to plan some specific events together. We started with a youth event called U:NITE which took place at City Church and this brought together around 80 young people from about 10 churches. This was followed by two similar events which were equally beneficial and included workshops and teaching to encourage and build up our young people. Nexus also put together a 6 week discipleship course called U:NITE:D. This brought together around 30 young people from about 6 churches. We met together for worship, some teaching and then some small group time. This was a wonderful time and really encouraged young Christians and Youth Workers alike.

The Network meets twice a term in different churches around the area and is a great place for youth leaders to come and be encouraged.
